Gastronorm containers are intended for:
- for preparing various dishes, incl. sauce containers (for example, gastronorm containers for combi ovens)
- for baking as a baking tray (gastronomy containers with a height (depth) of 10 and 20 mm)
- for display (demonstration and storage of goods) in a showcase
- for storing inventory
- for transporting prepared dishes (gastronomy containers can be used in special thermos flasks for outdoor trade)
Gastronorm containers can also be perforated, which have numerous holes on the bottom or a mesh structure to drain liquid generated during cooking. Such gastronorm containers are used for steaming food.
GASTRO CONTAINERS HAVE COMMON SIZES AND ARE SUITABLE FOR ALL TYPES OF HEATING AND REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT.
The global gastronorm container format GN 1/1 is adopted as the basis. This formulation - GN 1/1 means a container (gastronomy container) with external dimensions of 530x325 mm.
The numbers following the designation GN 1/1 indicate the depth (height) of the gastronorm container.
All other formats: GN 1/2, GN 1/3, GN 1/4, GN 1/6, GN 1/9, GN 2/1, GN 2/3, have derived sizes from the GN 1/1 size (530x325mm ).
FOR EXAMPLE : GN1/1-10 means that the gastronorm container has dimensions of 530 mm - length, 325 mm - width, and 10 mm - depth (height) of the gastronorm container.
