Met Gala 2023 & cocktails

On May 1, one of the most anticipated events in the fashion industry took place. The Met Gala is a charity fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, led by fashion and style guru Anna Wintour.

This year's Costume Institute exhibition was dedicated to the work and life of Karl Lagerfeld, so the dress code was, quite appropriately, “in honor of Karl.” Since Lagerfeld has designed clothes for many houses, including his eponymous brand, Patou, Balmain, Chloé, Fendi and Chanel, there was no shortage of inspiration for visitors.

Like fashion, mixology is an art that requires creativity, craftsmanship and an eye for detail. It was all the more interesting for us to discover similar trends and sentiments in the Pinch&Drop program for summer verandas. To feel stylish, you don’t have to attend the Met Gala or wear shorts with a coat, you can simply prepare yourself a stylish cocktail, which includes:

• 200 ml chamomile decoction;
• 20 ml P&D “Passion Fruit” puree;
• 15 ml P&D Lychee syrup;

We associate the snow-white Chanel dress worn by Karl Lagerfeld's muse, Penelope Cruz, with the minimalism of the Aerial Flower cocktail . Light and airy - this is how both the actress’s image and the cocktail, the name of which translates as “Air Flower,” can be described.

• 40 ml tequila;
• 20 ml pasteurized egg white;
• 50 ml soda.

How to prepare: place all ingredients in a shaker, shake well, add ice, shake, pour into a chilled glass, garnish with flowers.

The carmine shade of Salma Hayek's Gucci dress seems to us to be a reference to the most luxurious flower on the planet - the rose. The actress's image reminded us of coffee with damask rose from the Pinch&Drop program of drinks for summer verandas. It has the same amount of passion, energy and beauty.
