The egg cup was a popular item on the table of the nobility in the 18th and 19th centuries. Back then, eating a poached egg for breakfast was considered good manners and was recommended by doctors. This item does not have an exact name in our country: egg glass, egg stand, poached egg, scrambled egg, but it still remains a sign of a good, expensive restaurant.
A soft-boiled egg is placed in the shell in an egg cup and served with a special spoon (but an ordinary tea spoon will do). Use a spoon to carefully break the shell and consume the egg itself using the same spoon. Or dip long breadsticks into the egg.
